Trogir ~ Croatia

Ciovo Island, Trogir, Croatia

Trogir is located in central Dalmatia on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. The city is connected to the charming island of Čiovo by a bridge. This is a place that touched our hearts and will certainly remain in our memory for a long time. Narrow streets, historical monuments as well as bustling and colorful markets are just a taste of what this place has to offer. When in Central Dalmatia, this is a must-visit point on the map.

What is worth seeing:
The "Riva" promenade in Trogir is an ideal place for walking among lush palm trees. The promenade stretches on the opposite side of the island of Čiovo. From there you can admire luxury yachts and boats and visit numerous restaurants.

The Old Town, which has been included on the UNESCO list. It delights with its beautiful architecture, which gives this place a unique atmosphere. The buildings have been preserved in almost pristine condition. You can wander its streets for hours, admiring the historic buildings and enjoying the atmosphere of the street restaurants and shops where you can buy traditional delicacies.

For me, the Cathedral of St. Lawrence is the hallmark of Trogir, because its bell tower is visible everywhere. The entrance to the cathedral is decorated with beautiful sculptures that catch the eye from the very beginning. Then it only gets better. The beautiful altar with sculptures of saints and angels is breathtaking. They are so real and made with great precision down to the smallest details.

The raw and monumental Kamerlengo Fortress in Trogir is now only a remnant of the former defense system. From there you can admire beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea. And also explore the labyrinth of corridors and learn the history of this place all over again.
